The Disney Channel is not just a basic cable network that airs fun programs for kids. Even though it always seemed like Disney is a synonym for cartoons and movies for children, this image is completely different today. Nobody is really sure when this downfall started or what caused it, but many Disney stars have grown into big Hollywood stars with even bigger problems. Ever since the late 1980’s, Disney has been successfully launching child actors into the spotlight. Now that these stars are all grown up, it seems like they became victims to their own fame but also, major scandals. Unlike the characters these Disney stars once played, these people are deeply troubled, hooked (or were hooked) on alcohol and drugs and they are usually scandal-machines. Maybe kids should just be kids, and stardom can wait until they become a bit older.

1. We believe you heard about Lindsay Lohan before. Lindsay started her career playing dual roles of twins in Disney’s 1998 movie, The Parent Trap. Lindsay was so good, she actually landed a three-film contract with Disney. After her role in Mean Girls in 2004, it seemed like the only way Lindsay can go is up! Unfortunately, LiLo showed us how low a former Disney star can fall- after a cocaine possession charge, two DUI arrests and three failed stints in rehab, the once promising Disney star became to fade. Lindsay has been troubled for so long now that we’ve all kind of accepted her like that. Oprah included.
